Studying is definitely a big part of student life, but since she has that little smile in the first picture, it looks posed instead of you capturing a candid moment.
This really captures a lot of campus life! Oh boy, studying... I like the composition of the photos, however, I think they look a little posed. Next time, see if you can just stick around a little longer and get a more varied view of her.
Good thought getting people studying. Try waiting around in the student center for a more busy time when there might be more people at work. That way you will have more options not only to get shots of a single person studying like you have, but also you can get shots of groups or interactions between people. Your closeup picture is the most successful, but for wider angle shots they could be more interesting if there was more going on.
When photographing something common place, it's always interesting to try and find a different take on the subject. It's tough to do. These are good though. The top one makes her look really happy to be doing homework.
These three photos work well in showing the overall, medium and close-up shots. Great job practicing that, but it would be difficult to use all three images together in any sort of publication and I'm not sure what story each photo tells by itself.
+ nice work getting different angles and close-ups! your editor would be happy that they have a lot to choose from! + people forget campus life doesn't always mean pranks and basketball game! good job displaying a different side!
- these photos look unnatural and posed. work on being a little more sneaky in the future, which is certainly difficult to do!
The pictures do look a bit posed because of Laura's cute little smile. You used your space well but I was waiting for a background movement to show up. I would wait a bit longer to have people passing through to create an atmosphere around Laura. You did complete the necessaries of student life in studying, but also remember that campus is always moving and that would have been good to see around Laura.
